Government Dayal Singh Graduate School in Lahore is a graduate school affiliated to the Lahore Secondary and Secondary Education Commission and the Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan.
History
This college was established on the orders of Sardar Dayal Singh of Lahore. Sardar Dayal Singh belongs to the Sher Gul or Gul tribe of Sardars in Majita village between Lahore and Amritsar near Wagah border. He is best known as the “founder of the Tribune” and in 1898 he transferred most of his wealth to the two trust funds founded this year by Dayal Singh. Lahore College and Dayal Singh Public Library.
The college is run by an educational trust, which includes Dayal Singh College, Dayal Singh Library, Dayal Singh Majithia Hall, and Dayal Singh Mansion in Lahore Shopping Center near Lahore High Court.
Sardar Dayal Singh Majitha is a philanthropist and lover of education. He is a man of insight and action, devoting all his wealth to spreading education. He donated almost all his wealth to build a college in Lahore, Pakistan.
