Recognition

The Medical Council of Pakistan and the Ministry of Health recognize the Islamabad School of Medicine and Dentistry, which is associated with Shahid Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University. The college is listed in the WHO Medical School Directory and the International Medical Education Directory. In Rawalpindi, the college is linked with three teaching hospitals: Social Security Hospital, Ahmed Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Asylum. The college has been collaborating with Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, a new interdisciplinary 500-650 bed hospital located next to the college building, for the past three years [when?].
