This is the first time that Punjab University has set up a teaching campus outside Lahore in five years. The Gujranwala Campus of Punjab University was established with the full care and cooperation of Hon’ble Principal Lt. Gen. Khalid Maqbool and Vice President Kindergarten. The inauguration of the sub-campus is in line with the education policy of the current government of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf. He is interested in the development of education in the country, especially higher education.
Gujranwala Campus is located at Alipur Chowk near Rawalpindi Bypass in Gujranwala. The building is similar to the former campus of Punjab University in Lahore. It is far from the city, with good transportation, and at the same time away from the busy city streets. It covers an area of 22 kanals. It has 37 classrooms, administrative buildings, a large multi-work hall and ancillary facilities (such as a parking lot, a canteen, a bookstore, two large lawns, etc.).
