Celtuba University (QU) was founded in 2001. Celtuba is the Arabic form of the name Cordoba in Andalusia, Spain. It has two campuses in Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar, Pakistan. These two campuses have been identified, respectively, and placed in the highest ‘W3’ rating by the HEC. According to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, it ranks seventh among Pakistani universities. It is chartered by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government and approved by the Pakistan Higher Education Commission.

History
The university was established on 30 March 2001 in accordance with the constitution issued by the Governor (K.P.K) and was recognized by the Islamabad Higher Education Council. The girls’ school was separated from the college in 2006. Lahore P.I.A Association Model School was established in 2008.
Achievements
The University of Cordoba has been given W3 category in the new science and IT rankings by the Pakistan Higher Education Commission and is one of the top universities in the country. The University of Cordoba is the only university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to have the highest rating by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It ranks third in the HEC rankings in computer science and information technology.
Campuses
Cordoba University of Science and Information Technology has two camps. Both are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The main campus is in Dera Ismail Khan and the other in Peshawar.
