Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College (formerly Sialkot Medical College) is a public medical school in Sialkot, Pakistan. It was started by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to provide quality education in Punjab and especially in Sialkot. It was named in 2017 after Khawaja Muhammad Safdar, who played an active role in the Tehreek-e-Pakistan before 1947 and was the father of the current PML-N political leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif. It was established in 2008 and received approval of PKR 450 million. The closed hospitals include Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital, Sialkot (400 beds) and Sardar Begum Memorial Hospital, Sialkot (240 beds). The college has been approved by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Commission (PMDC). And is listed by the International Foundation for the Advancement of Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). KMSMC students and alumni are often referred to as Kmsians.
The principal
The first president is Prof. Tanveer Ali Khan Sherwani. The other president is Prof. Dr. Malik Shah Zaman Latif. And the third president is Prof. Noshin Omar. The fourth president is Prof. Zafar Ali Chaudhry. The fifth and last principal is Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Rehan.
