Civilians are also admitted to the college by students who do not want to join the Pakistani army. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Commission recognizes the degree conferred by AMC (PMDC).
Originally, the college was associated with Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), where it earned an MBBS degree. The college was associated with the Pakistan National University of Science and Technology from 1998 until 2015. (NUST). The college is presently a National Medical University (NUMS Army) affiliated campus. Students can enroll at Medical University in one of two ways: through the medical student course or through the NUMS admission exam. NUMS slots are reserved for civilians, and only medical students are eligible to join the Pakistan Army. Like other medical institutions in Pakistan, foreign candidates can apply for NUMS test results using SAT subject test scores.
