Karachi University is considered to be the largest university in Pakistan. According to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the university has been ranked among the top three universities in Pakistan. Karachi University (UOK) started its work in 1951 as an authorized body to conduct B.A, BSc, M.A, MSc, MPhil and PhD examinations in a transparent environment. A few years after its establishment, mainly in 1962, its reputation was restored as the University of Sindh.
The annual MA and MSc examinations begin in September each year, with the results announced in March. University officials usually announce the date sheet of MA and MSc final examinations in August. A large number of regular and private candidates appeared for the MA examinations every year.
