Punjab University Undergraduate Merit List 2022

Punjabi University, also known as Punjab University, is a public research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The Senate House is now known as the Old Campus of the Punjab University, Lahore. Designed by architect Bhai Ram Singh in 1911, Punjab University is the oldest government university in Pakistan. With several campuses in Gujranwala, Jhelum and Khanspore, the university was formally established when the British government convened its first meeting to establish it. Institute of Education in Shimla in October 1882. Punjab University was the fourth university in the Indian subcontinent to be established by the British colonial authorities. The first three universities were established in other parts of British India.

There are 45,678 students (27,907 morning students, 16,552 evening students and 1,219 diploma students). The university has 13 faculties including 83 academic departments, research centers and institutes. Punjab University has been ranked number one among many large faculty universities by HEC in 2012. University alumni and alumni include two Nobel laureates. In addition, the university is a member of the Commonwealth Universities Association of the United Kingdom. In the Asian University Rankings recently released by QS World University Rankings, the university improved its position by 39 places from 232nd to 193rd position. According to QS World University’s Subject 2019 classification, it ranks 251-300 in Agriculture and Forestry, 501-550 in Physics and Astronomy, and 501-550 in Chemistry.

The sending of Wood to the Punjab University in 1854 gave it its initial impetus. Gottlieb Wilhelm Lettner was its founder. Unlike the three pre-established universities, which were merely examination institutions, Punjab University was from the outset a teaching as well as an examination institution.
