Sir Syed Ahmad Khan (1817-1898), the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, called the area around Gujarat “Khata Greece” (“Similar to the ancient Greek region”) because of the large number of educational institutions there. In the area. 19th century. The main campus is named after local Sufi saint Hafiz Muhammad Hayat. Hafiz Hayat Temple is located at a prominent place on the campus of Gujarat University. It is a magnificent complex in terms of architecture, site planning and landscape design. It is located on a six foot high mound above Terre Plain. The place has a mansion, a summer house (baradari), a mosque, four tombs of different sizes, several tombs, seven wells and many ancient trees. The hill under construction belongs to Raja Kaladhvi and is surrounded by dense forest. Hafiz Hayat settled in the area and helped people with his spiritual focus. Although the exact date is not known, it was during the reign of Emperor Jahangir. The Sunnah donated all its land to the national authorities for education. UOG’s main campus was built on land donated by Hafiz Muhammad Hayat.
